Hayley Williams on Thursday released the first part of her upcoming album Petals for Armor.
The five-track release, which includes previously released tracks "Simmer" and "Leave It Alone" along with three new songs, comes ahead of the full album, which will arrive on May 8.
One of the new songs is one called "Cinnamon," which is accompanied by a newly released video directed by Warren Fu.
"There are a lot of themes covered on the album as a whole and I thought it best to separate some of these themes so that there can be time for everyone to digest some of the songs before we move along to others," she says of the decision to release these songs early. "It’s a way to include people on the journey in the same way that I experienced it."
As we previously mentioned, Williams has emphasized this solo work isn't interfering with her original project, Paramore, calling the rest of the band her "favorite musicians." Longtime bandmate Taylor York also produced the album.
