Emerging singer Nōva is here with a shiny new single called "Heavy Hitters."

It arrives with an accompanying video, drenched in sunshine and glitter. But the song's inspiration isn't necessarily all sunny and nice.

"Growing up, I went through some shit. People constantly put me down—told me I wasn’t good enough, made fun of how I looked and how I sang," the singer says of the song's origins. "It took a lot for me to feel confident enough to start releasing my own music and showing people my artwork. 'Heavy Hitters' is about finally letting go [of] all that negativity and celebrating who you are as a person."

Produced by Alexander Bergil and Bobby Crane, the song is out now and so is the video.
