Well, it seems the wait may finally be over.

Lil Wayne revealed Tuesday afternoon his long-awaited record Tha Carter V is coming very, very soon. As in, this weekend.

A countdown on his website is leading to a Sept. 28 finish, while the rapper himself took to social media this afternoon announcing via video he has "something special" coming for his birthday (which is Sept. 27).

In the video, he thanked fans for sticking with him for "the past four or five years," suggesting he feels like Tiger Woods, who is in the middle of a sudden comeback. This 2018 release date follows a number of previously failed release dates starting back in 2013.
