PHOTOS: Kings of Leon Deliver for Hometown Show

Kings of Leon continued efforts this week to promote their latest full-length, Mechanical Bull, trekking through Tulsa on Tuesday night.

It was in many ways a sort of "hometown show," with brothers Caleb, Nathan and Jared Followill as well as their Matthew Followill all growing up in Oklahoma. And as hometown crowds tend to be, the attendees in the BOK Center were brimming with a unique energy (I've seen them perform multiple times out of state).

"We just had a few good days at home," Caleb told the crowd at the beginning of the night. "So we're rested up and ready to have a good time."

Unlike many other arena acts, the band kept theatrics to a minimum, opting for occasional backdrop visuals but mostly keeping the focus on the songs. Even the lighting was fairly mild.

Instead, they lit up the arena with popular songs like "Closer," "Wait for Me," "Sex on Fire," "Use Somebody" and "Temple." And the crowd loved it.

Next up, Kings of Leon closes out their North American tour in New Orleans before heading to Europe and the U.K. They return to the States in August to headline Lollapalooza alongside Eminem, OutKast and Arctic Monkeys.
