Spotify on Wednesday revealed its first annual 25 Under 25, a list of what it considers to be the most influential young artists.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the ranking is based on global "No. 1 hits, volume and growth of streams and shares, and viral chart success from the last year."

Of course, the list has very few surprises, with Avicii at No. 1, followed by Lorde, Miley Cyrus, One Direction and Taylor Swift. But then things get interesting.
