Donald Glover fans can rest a bit more easily. The actor-musician has signed a new record deal with RCA Records.
Glover's new contract includes the "next phase" of his Childish Gambino moniker as well as his agency-label Wolf + Rothstein. The deal is said to have been finalized in recent weeks following an intense bidding war.
"Donald is undoubtedly one of the most talented, multi-faceted, young entertainers of this era," said RCA Chairman/CEO Peter Edge in a statement released Monday. "We are excited to join forces with him and Wolf + Rothstein to usher in the next phase of Childish Gambino’s musical career."
Glover, who was previously signed with Glassnote Records, had recently left his musical future up in the air, telling fans last summer after his Governors Ball performance he would be back for a "last Gambino album."
His most recent full-length, "Awaken, My Love!", is nominated for five Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year, Record of the Year and Best R&B Song. But with the RCA deal comes confirmation of new music, although it's unclear when that material will arrive.
Glover's FX series Atlanta returns on March 1 and he has a number of other projects in development. He will also be performing at the Grammys this Sunday.
