Created by OogeeWoogee, a media outlet emphasizing hip-hop and counterculture, the Be Alright Scholarship asked candidates to submit videos "explaining the positive aspects of hip-hop and [showcasing] their talent" for a chance to be selected.

Hamza Qureshi, a new freshman at Pittsburgh's Carnegie Mellon University as of this week, was awarded the $1,500 scholarship on Tuesday. And just as a person.”
