Nashville up-and-comer Troy Akers (aka Bandit Heart) is embracing the Southern charm with his new single "Wreckless."

While he has previously veered toward pop ballads, this latest cut is definitely more twangy, inspired by the messiness of falling in love. The song is officially out on Friday, but it's premiering today on Variance.

"When I wrote this, I wanted to go there in my mind," the singer says of the new track. "The title is actually a mistake on my part. When I wrote it, I loved the idea of the word 'reckless' being spelled that way...because in my mind it embodied a wreck...thus 'wreckless,' and I obviously kept the title. Love's a tornado. It can take you up and never let you down. I guess those of us that do come down...we get to write about it and live to tell the tale. The production on this is actually a huge stretch from how I used to play it live. My best friend and producer had the idea to making it a chugging song and it stuck."
