French electronic artist-producer Dim Sum has released his new single "Right Track," his first since 2015, which he is premiering Tuesday on Variance.
The fluttering cut, which is the title track off his upcoming new EP, features alluring vocals from fellow French vocalist Nina Lili J, who provides an addictive hook which is both blissful yet ominous.
"Are we on the right track / to a different tomorrow," she asks, pondering about the past while unsure about the future.
"When I started working on 'Right Track' I felt like I was stuck in Paris and I really needed to travel, even if it was only in my mind," Dim Sum says of the new song. "I was also looking for new people to create music with. Some friend told me about Nina Lili J and I found her voice really touching and inspiring. I had an idea about a 'tropical train' and so she wrote some lyrics around this idea and the music came really naturally to me around her voice."
He says together they created what he sees as an "ode to exile and the quest for something new."
The new song follows his previous single "High Love" as well remixes for the likes of Ra Ra Riot, Foster the People and more.
