House of Cards will launch its fifth season on May 30, Netflix tactfully confirmed during Friday's inauguration of Donald Trump as the 45th President of the United States.

Perfectly timed with the sparsely attended inaugural event, the streaming platform released a very short, bleak teaser featuring an upside down American flag hanging in front of the Capitol Building, while a children's chorus is heard reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.

The clip was captioned only by the words, "We make the terror," nodding to the words uttered by Kevin Spacey's President Frank Underwood at the end of season four.
