As he promotes his upcoming album 24K Magic, Bruno Mars on Wednesday stopped by BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge and delivered a cover of Adele's 25 song "All I Ask," which he co-wrote with the singer.

“We were aiming for that big, diva, ballad thing – that’s what I envisioned,” Mars told Rolling Stone in a new interview, explaining he and Adele debated the use of "lovers" in the lyrics. "[Adele] was so gangster about it. She was like, ‘Nope. That’s what it has to be.’ And she was right. It’s this grand word that makes the song bigger because no one says it. Because nobody talks like that, it pops out. It’s not ‘what boyfriends-and-girlfriends do’ – it’s this over-the-top ‘lovers.'”

While Mars' album is out on Nov. 18, his cover of "All I Ask" can be seen below.
