Solange on Thursday night performed a special concert where she debuted a new song called "Rise," which is a tribute to the cities of Ferguson and Baltimore in light of recent unrest.

HBO sponsored the Los Angeles event to promote its upcoming Bessie Smith biopic, Bessie, which premieres Saturday at 8 p.m. EST on the premium cable net.

"Rise" will "probably" be on Solange's forthcoming album, according to the singer.
