Hours after releasing a surprise album, Eric Church took the CMA Awards stage on Wednesday night and performed the title track, "Mr. Misunderstood."

As we previously mentioned, the country rocker has been mailing copies of the unexpected to members of his fan club.

"It always takes me time to look for inspiration to make a new album," Church said in a note to the press tonight. "This time inspiration came looking for me. Together, we found Mr. Misunderstood. Today, it's yours."
