As Adele amps up the promo for her upcoming album 25, the singer performed lead single "Hello" Saturday night at France's NRJ Music Awards.

While she previously performed the song for the recording of Adele at the BBC, that British TV special won't air until Nov. 20, the day her album releases.

In the NRJ performance, Adele seems cautious through the song's first verse (and it seems perhaps the audience was instructed not to breathe or applaud until the song's end?), but as it builds, she seems to find a groove and her facial and hand expressions speak louder than words, as she delivers the fire (mind you, she hasn't toured since 2012 or performed live since 2013).
