Only hours after the first season of True Detective snagged a handful of Emmy nominations, HBO is promising season two details are only days away.

The network's president of programming Michael Lombardo told the Television Critics Association on Thursday that casting news will arrive "in the next week." He went on to reveal the first two scripts are already complete, noting that they're "more exciting than the first season.”

The show's creator Nic Pizzolatto, who has previously suggested the idea of female leads, said back in May that he's "working with three leads."

Update (07.11.14): Colin Farrell is reportedly in talks to join as one of the three leads next season. Deadline first reported the 38-year-old actor is in "deep in negotiations" to join the HBO series.
