John Legend late Thursday night released his new single "Love Me Now," which arrived after the singer teased the song earlier in the week.

Having premiered on his Facebook page, it's a preview of his upcoming album Darkness and Light, which doesn't yet have a release date but will feature a number of guest artists, including Chance the Rapper, Miguel, Alabama Shakes frontwoman Brittany Howard and Blake Mills.

"Love Me Now" was co-written produced by John Legend alongside Mills—who co-produced Alabama Shakes' most recent album Sound & Color—and John Ryan, who has co-written over a dozen songs for One Direction.

According to Legend, "Love Me Now" is "about living and loving to the fullest, no matter what tomorrow may bring," he said, noting: "I've put a lot of love and energy into making this album special. I hope my fans can feel it."
