Splitting his time between São Paulo, Los Angeles and London, Brazilian artist Blue Mar has been on a mission to spread a very important message. The artist’s entire catalog of songs sees him delving into global matters, touching on thought-provoking topics, the need to fight for change and the general responses from populations around the world. His fascinating words are accompanied by rambunctious bluesy guitars, toe-tapping rhythms and an overall gritty delivery.

The 14-track album covers a multitude of themes, with “Eulogy For Rohith Vemula” paying tribute to Rohith Vemula’s life and activism in India. Then there is “ONE” which speaks about the importance of uniting together during times of adversity, as well as the social media driven “Hibernating (CEDO-OU-TARDE).” “Earthquake Pills” imagines the concept of a utopian world, where humans are controlled by the state and “Division Ways” is about the battle between the left and the right.

Inspecting the world through a magnifying lens, Blue Mar takes various approaches and angles in order to establish a deeper understanding of everything around us, as he shares, “For numerous reasons, I was intrigued by the title The March Hare. It was most likely during this month that we first noticed COVID 19's effects. Lewis Carroll's literary nonsensical masterpiece "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" comes to mind when thinking of a peek of what would inevitably lead to the entire world flipping upside down. I wanted to make an album that addressed topics like human connections, being in perpetual upheaval and feeling unable to unwind but in a whimsical, tongue-in-cheek manner!”

Packed with emotion and educational elements, Blue Mar takes us on a rollercoaster with sonic twists and turns at every corner.
