In these strange, confusing times, music sometimes helps us try to make sense of things.

That is the case with Mountain Party's new song "Hell, I Don't Know," which doesn't so much offer answers as it captures a longing, a struggle. And it's a reminder that it's OK not to have the answers. It's OK if things just simply don't make sense.

"Mountain Party has always been an intentional exercise in writing about regular people in general, not really about myself," says singer Justin Green. "My own feelings come through in some of the characters I create and the stories I want to tell, but I'm trying to capture more than just my own frustration and tell relatable stories that resonate with almost anyone. So many folks have much more to be frustrated and hopeless about than I do, and those stories are the ones I want to pick apart."

Green continues: "With 'Hell, I Don't Know' I got to merge perspectives and generally just marinate on what the fuck is going on. But I don't really have an answer. That's the whole point, as much as I've felt like I have a handle on how shitty the world can be, it's not like I know what to do about it. Who can't relate to that? We're all just doing our best to push the pain down and make it through, and although it really doesn't seem like there's much to be hopeful about, we've all got to hang in there."
