Ryan Egan is back with new music, his first of the year.

On Friday, the Variance favorite shared his new single "Soft Power," a frothy, psych-rock infused cut, and a clear standout as the title track and third preview of Egan's upcoming debut album Soft Power, which is coming on April 8.

The new music follows his previous songs "Weeknights" and "Alone For the Last Time," released in September and November, respectively.

“This song is a sort of warning and reminder to myself to recognize my own power, my strengths, and to capitalize on them, or else succumb to the vision others have of me," says Egan. "We’re constantly putting so much power into the hands of others, knowingly or unknowingly, gambling with our lives and well-being. Whether it be how we engage socially, with money, business, whatever—we often don’t realize what we’ve lost until it’s too late.”

"Soft Power" was written by Egan, who co-produced the track alongside Kevin Basko.
