Before the world turned upside down, Ryan Egan followed love to Paris, leaving New York City behind. Little did he know, he would be experiencing a pandemic in his new home in Europe.

Today, he is sharing his new single "Alone For The Last Time," a song written during the first month of France's lockdown, with feelings uncertainty as well as kind of enjoying the solitude.

"The theme of the song perfectly expresses the mixed feelings of guilt and sheer bliss I experienced at that time, as I was able to escape into my writing and thoroughly enjoy the break from 'reality' while thankfully suffering no personal losses due to the pandemic," says Egan. "It’s a song about solitude and selfishly wishing to stay in that state forever. I’m no hermit but the experience confirmed for me how years of writing and producing music in isolation prepares you for times like these."

This is Egan's second single off his upcoming debut album Soft Power, which is out on April 8. He previously shared his song "Weeknights," which arrived in September.
