Jordan Rakei, long one of our favorite artists, is back with new music.

On Tuesday, he shared his gripping, very personal new single "Family," a stirring first preview of his upcoming fourth studio album, which is titled What We Call Life. It's out on Sept. 17 and is available now for pre-order.

"I wanted to hit my vulnerability barrier and be really honest," says Rakei about the new track, which is reflective of his journey over the past couple of years in therapy. "It’s about my parents’ divorce in my mid-teens but still having love for them no matter what."

According to the singer, the upcoming record will delve into an array of discoveries from his personal life and lessons learned through his experience in therapy, from his young marriage, his relationship with his family members and his early childhood.

Perhaps hinting at the possibility of a tour, Rakei says: "There's so much I'd love to tell you, but all in good time."
