British singer-songwriter Ella McCready is here to give us a bubbly new single with "Fine on My Own." Produced by Moonwalker Music, this track packs a punch of flavor and warmth. Described by McCready herself as a song of motivation and one which you can “dance to and escape to,” the track takes a sheer, honest gaze into breaking out of a highly toxic and manipulative relationship. McCready adds, “It’s always good to be reminded that you are all you need. I think that’s an empowering thought.”
Reminiscent of Clean Bandit and Jess Glynne, the single is bursting in vibrancy with an underlying funk/soul subtlety. The flying wings of strings soar through the soundscape, as well as sharp pulses that add a tasteful burst of energy. “I’ll be just fine on my own, don't need to rely on no one,” she sings, giving us motivation and one very groovy rhythm. The persistent drums have a tropical breeze flowing through them, working perfectly alongside that Nile Rodgers style funk guitar. This track is rippling in sunny vibrations and spirited vocals. McCready’s voice is a powerhouse of emotion, soul and crystal clear pronunciation, letting us soak in all the feelings of the narrative.
The soul/pop queen is no stranger to the musical world, growing up in a family of musicians, McCready has been on stage since age 14. Now as an adult McCready is aiming to focus on her solo career, with plans to continue bringing us bright, soulful, zesty tunes. Check out “Fine On My Own” and add it to your summer playlists!
