There's a lot to take in on Twenty One Pilots' new song "Choker," which arrived Friday.
This is the latest preview of the two's upcoming album Scaled and Icy, which is out May 21 via Fueled By Ramen. It's accompanied by a video directed by Mark Eshleman for Reel Bear Media. It was filmed in the band's hometown of Columbus, Ohio.
And despite the fluttering musical undercurrent and the song's buoyant feel, it's lyrically dark and confessional, as is the case with a lot of Twenty One Pilots' material. As with many of the band's past videos, the video is laced with plenty of Easter eggs, references to past songs and albums, and a sudden, climactic ending.
