Emerging alt-pop act Forrest Isn't Dead is kicking off the weekend a little early today with the launch of his new single "Wash Away."

It's an irresistible listen, premiering today on Variance alongside a video directed by Interior Mirror. The new, undeniably summer-ready cut also arrives with news of Forrest's debut full-length album, The End of Everything, which he is confirming today will be released Sept. 16.

"The hook line and tempo of the song was inspired by one of my favorite bands T.S.O.L.,” says Forrest of the new song. “The lyrics were inspired by the relationship I shared with my ex. We were together at the time of me writing it. I feel like the song is relatable to anyone who has shared a special bond with someone…don’t let it wash away.”

Forrest, who has drawn parallels from the likes of The Cure and Gorillaz, says of the album: "If I didn’t do music, I don’t think I would still be here right now. I’ve experienced many traumas in my life, and I’ve found myself on the other side. There’s nothing in life you can’t get through. I want my music to feel like a sanctuary for you. My message is, ‘Even in your lowest point, I’m here for you.'"
