Nashville alt-rockers Goldpark are ready to share new music, and it's coming in the form of their new single "Beautiful Desperation," which is officially out Friday.
The irresistible track and its accompanying video are premiering today on Variance. The clip was filmed at the Basement, a venue in Nashville which is one of many impacted by the pandemic and the sudden halt of the live music industry.
“Three years ago my wife and I went on a trip all over the West Coast. When I reflect on what struck me the most, it was without a doubt the desert," recalls singer Wes James. "I am captivated by the desert because of the tension that exists within it: the tension of beauty and desperation. The way the sun beautifully illuminates the dunes while they're desperately waiting for rain. Those images sparked 'Beautiful Desperation.'"
As for the video, he adds: "As a band looking to make our touring debut in 2020 it only made sense when we started to think about a video for the song that we support a local Nashville music scene staple. The Basement, like many other independent venues across the country, was struggling to keep the lights on during the ongoing pandemic, and we wanted to do whatever we could to shine a light on a cause that really hit home for us.”
