Los Angeles music-maker Peter Verdell (aka Forever X2) is ready to release his first music of the year.

Today, his new song "Lost Your Heart" is premiering on Variance and it offers a unique and fuzzy, sort of stream of consciousness, reflective of a late night and a wondering (maybe wandering?) heart. Either way, it makes for a playful yet bittersweet listen.

"This is one of the few songs I’ve written where I went straight from my journal to the microphone,” says Verdell of the new song. “I went to a party with my friend Erika—a good friend who I’ve always wondered about, romantically, and this party was gonna be the night that I finally made a move. Spoiler: I got home at 2am and wrote this song."
