After performing at Sunday night's NBA All-Star game, The Roots on Monday unveiled the lineup for their 10th annual Roots Picnic in Philadelphia.
Topping this year's bill are Pharrell (with The Roots), Solange and Lil Wayne. Also performing will be 21 Savage, Kimbra, Thundercat, Michael Kiwanuka, A Boogie wit Da Hoodie, James Vincent McMorrow, Noname, Khalid and more.
“Ten years ago, this [Roots Picnic] started as a concept, an idea, a conversation between me, Tarik (Black Thought), Ahmir (Questlove) and Rich (Nichols),” said Shawn Gee, The Roots’ longtime manager, in a statement, nodding to last year's expansion to New York: “Philly will always be the home, the birthplace of the Roots Picnic. We are super excited to bring a packed lineup to celebrate our 10th anniversary, and as always there will be plenty of surprises and special guests.”
This year's Roots Picnic is set for June 3 at Philadelphia’s Festival Pier at Penn’s Landing. Tickets are on sale now.
