In the latest signal of a return to normal for Chicago, indie hip-hop fest Summer Smash has unveiled its 2021 lineup, boasting quite the heavyweight roster.
A$AP Rocky, Lil Baby and Lil Uzi Vert will headline the three-day fest, which is set for Aug. 20-22 in Douglas Park. It marks an expansion from the 2019 event, which brought in over 40,000 fans over two days. And then 2020 happened, of course.
The Summer Smash announcement also comes as fellow Chi-town fests like Lollapalooza and Pitchfork Music Festival have yet to make formal announcements about their 2021 plans. But it does suggest the pent-up demand is real for the return of large-scale events.
This year's Summer Smash will also feature Lil Yachty, Lil Skies, City Girls, 24kGoldn, Baby Keem, Coi Leray, Earl Sweatshirt, The Kid Laroi, Ski Mask the Slump God, Blueface, Gunna, $Not, Young M.A, Yung Pinch, Landon Cube, NLE Choppa, Joey Purp and more.
Summer Smash Festival is produced by promoter SPKRBX and media platform Lyrical Lemonade. Tickets are available now, with three-day general admission passes starting at $260, while multiple VIP packages are also on sale.
