As further evidence live music is largely done for 2020, Outside Lands confirmed it's officially canceling its 2020 edition, with organizers instead skipping on to 2021 and revealing next year's lineup.

"We would love nothing more than to be with you this August, listening to our favorite artists in Golden Gate Park and celebrating the best of the Bay Area for our 13th consecutive Outside Lands," they said in the bittersweet announcement. "After lengthy discussions with local and state health authorities about the impact of COVID-19 both in our community and throughout the world, we believe it is in the best interest of everyone’s health and safety that Outside Lands not be held in 2020."

Next year's fest is set for Aug. 6-8, 2021, with tickets going on sale Thursday (June 25) at 10 a.m. PST.

The lineup includes Tame Impala, Lizzo, The Strokes, Tyler, the Creator, Vampire Weekend, J Balvin, Kehlani, ZHU, The 1975, Young Thug, Brittany Howard, Beach House, Burna Boy, Angel Olsen, Sofi Tukker, Sharon Van Etten, A R I Z O N A, Dr. Dog, Rico Nasty, Andrew McMahon and the Wilderness, 070 Shake, Trevor Daniel, JPEGMAFIA, Moses Sumney, Parcels, Mahalia, Yves Tumor, Marc E. Bassy, Scarypoolparty, Goth Babe, Remi Wolf, Post Animal and more.

Nearly all major festivals have been scrapped for this year, with Coachella, SXSW and Summerfest among the big events completely canceling in hopes of returning in 2021. Earlier this month, Lollapalooza finally made the decision to halt this year's fest in Chicago, which had been one of several coronavirus hotspots but has been trending downward in recent weeks.
