The SXSW music lineup continues to grow, with a massive addition of more than 150 acts added today.
Coming just weeks before the start of the annual festivities, the Austin fest has now upped its music roster with the likes of Broken Social Scene, Judah & the Lion, Leikeli47, Japanese Breakfast, King Princess, Mavi Phoenix, Yoshi Flower, R3HAB, The Joy Formidable and others.
Earlier this week, SXSW sponsor Capital One confirmed its annual showcase at Antone's will in fact be returning this year, with the likes of CHVRCHES, Jungle, Bishop Briggs, Jade Bird, Jacob Banks and Mt. Joy all among those dropping in to perform.
With SXSW Music quickly approaching (March 11-17), organizers have also started a Music Preview Guide, intended to spotlight more than 100 acts scheduled to perform during the conference and festival. The discovery guide is being curated by music writers, radio DJs and other industry insiders from around the world.
The newly announced acts join last week's additions, which included Questlove, Zola Jesus, Cautious Clay, Royal Thunder, Ho99o9, SASAMI and Dean Lewis, as well as other recent additions such as Cherry Glazerr, Graham Coxon, Robert Ellis, The Nude Party, Mother Falcon, The Cactus Blossoms, Jarryd James, JP Saxe, Zunis, Run River North, Ella Vos, Jared & The Mill, John Paul White, XXX and more.
As it usually does, the Austin fest typically announces a first round of acts in October, a second round in late-November and a third round in early January, followed by additional announcements leading up to the music cycle in March.
Other previously confirmed artists include Mansionair, Ric Wilson, Novo Amor, Madeline Kenney, Kevin George, Charlotte OC, Deerhunter, Jerry Paper, Sam Fender, Flint Eastwood, BRONCHO, Talos, TEEN, Amanda Palmer, Viagra Boys, HÆLOS, Ezra Collective, FEMME, The O'My's, Wyclef Jean, Oh Sees and others.
