Rap maintains its hold on the Billboard crown this week, as Wale scores his first No. 1 album with The Gifted. The album moved 158,000 copies this past week to give the MC his first chart-topper on the Billboard 200 albums tally.

Rapper and actor 50 Cent has been charged this week with attacking his ex-girlfriend and trashing her condo, Los Angeles city attorney Mike Feuer confirmed Wednesday. The 37-year-old was charged with domestic violence and four counts of vandalism. If convicted, he could face up to five years in jail and more than $40,000 in fines.

After two weeks in the No. 2 spot (behind Kanye West last week and this week behind buddy Wale), J. Cole looks set to take the top spot next week. Although rare for albums to move up to No. 1 (they usually debut there), his Born Sinner is expected to sell about 60,000 copies by Sunday (July 7), which would easily nab the top of the Billboard 200 chart.
