Dave Grohl will not be performing at this year's Grammy Awards, despite the Recording Academy's announcement earlier this week confirming he would take the stage alongside Anderson .Paak and A Tribe Called Quest.

The Academy unfortunately retracted the news Thursday evening in an email to Variance, noting the announcement "was made prematurely" and "prior to confirming all participants." The correction added: "We sincerely apologize to all parties involved for our error."

The lineup adjustment comes as Beyoncé is said to be performing at the Feb. 12 ceremony, with a roster that already includes Chance the Rapper, Sturgill Simpson, Little Big Town, William Bell, Gary Clark Jr., Daft Punk, Alicia Keys, John Legend, Bruno Mars, Metallica, Maren Morris, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban and The Weeknd, as well as the aforementioned Anderson .Paak and A Tribe Called Quest.

The 59th Annual Grammy Awards are set for Sunday, Feb. 12, airing live at 8 p.m. EST/5 p.m. EST on CBS.
