So how do we feel about this? Ben Affleck is set to join Henry Cavill in the upcoming Man of Steel sequel.

Affleck will portray Batman in the new Superman/Batman flick, which is set to arrive July 2015. Cavill, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane will all return for the new film, with Zack Snyder directing.

The actor-director previously starred as a superhero in the title role of 2003's Daredevil. Of course, the pressure will certainly be on for Affleck, fresh off his Oscar-winning and critically acclaimed Argo—and not to mention Christopher Nolan's blockbuster Batman trilogy starring Christian Bale. Comic book fans will likely be rather opinionated with this casting.
