Tickets for Ed Sheeran's newly announced Madison Square Garden headline show sold out in three minutes upon going on sale Friday morning.
As we previously reported, radio host Ralphie Aversa revealed the news Tuesday on his show, citing a month-old interview with Sheeran. The singer later verified the report and set an on-sale date for the Nov. 1 show.
Following the show's sell-out on Friday, Sheeran announced there will now be a second date on Oct. 29. Tickets for that event will go on sale after Labor Day, he said via Twitter. He also urged fans not to buy tickets from third-party sellers.
Additionally, Sheeran will be joining NBC's The Voice this fall as a mentor alongside Cher, OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder and Miguel.
