Chris Brown Enters Rehab for Anger Management After Latest Assault Charges

Chris Brown has checked into a rehab facility for anger management following an incident over the weekend in which he allegedly punched a man outside a hotel, breaking his nose in the process.

Brown's lawyer, Mark Geragos, dropped the singer off at a Los Angeles facility on Tuesday evening.

The news comes as the L.A. county probation department is said to be planning to count Brown's latest actions as a violation of his probation stemmed from assaulting then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009.

Brown's rep has confirmed with Variance that the singer is seeking treatment, issuing the following statement: "Chris Brown has elected to enter a rehab facility. His goal is to gain focus and insight into his past and recent behavior, enabling him to continue the pursuit of his life and his career from a healthier vantage point."

In related news, this probably means his Halloween costume party is canceled. (Update: The venue confirmed via its website on Wednesday that the event will no longer take place.)

Update (10.30.13): Brown will spend at least three months in rehab, now guaranteeing that his forthcoming album, X, will be delayed until 2014. A source told TMZ that "the rehab facility has been told to take him apart and put him back together."
