That sure didn't take long. Within hours of Justin Bieber's arrest on Thursday morning, CNN began planning a TV special focused on the young singer.

In addition to the network's onslaught of coverage throughout the morning following the incident, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that an entire special titled Justin Bieber's Wild Ride will air Friday night during its primetime schedule.

While Bieber has had multiple run-ins with the law in recent months, he was arrested Thursday morning for drag racing through a Miami neighborhood, while allegedly under the influence of alcohol, anti-depressants and marijuana.

CNN chief Jeff Zucker criticized Fox News earlier this month at the Television Critics Association for "masquerading" as a news channel, telling reporters that his network is instead "in the new business." In related news, however, CNN fell to a new ratings low this week under Zucker's watch. So, enter Justin Bieber special.
