Saturday Night Live head writer Colin Jost will succeed Seth Meyers as co-anchor of the show's "Weekend Update" alongside Cecily Strong.

Executive Producer Lorne Michaels confirmed on Thursday that Jost will join the anchor desk starting March 1, following in the footsteps of Meyers and Tina Fey, both of whom anchored the satirical news segment after becoming the head writer for SNL.
