Mumford & Sons' Winston Marshall Claims Band is Done: 'F-ck the Banjo'

Mumford and Sons revealed back in September that they would be going on hiatus, presumably to regroup before moving forward with any future projects.

According to Vulture, banjo player Winston Marshall is claiming the band is actually done. “I wish I had something to say about Mumford & Sons," Marshall told the website Wednesday night. "It was a good time. It’s over ... We had a good time, though, you know. It was good." He went on to say he believes the band "killed" the banjo: “I think 'killed' is an understatement. We murdered it. We let it, yeah — fuck the banjo. I fucking hate the banjo.”

Update: A rep for the band tells Variance, "Clearly he's joking," adding that rumors of the band's breakup are "not true."
