Speaking at the Television Critics Association winter press tour on Sunday, FX Networks president John Landgraf said he anticipates there will "be at least five" seasons of Soviet KGB spy thriller The Americans.

While the show—one of Variance's top five Best TV Shows of 2014—has become a critical favorite, it hasn't been as competitive in the ratings.

"We're not really a channel that's trying to be the highest rated on television," Landgraf said while acknowledging the show's critical praise. He also noted that he "sure would like to see the Emmys finally step up to take notice [of the show]."

Starring Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys, The Americans returns Jan. 28 for its much-anticipated third season.
