Sunday night's Saturday Night Live 40th anniversary special scored some major ratings for NBC.

The all-star reunion event earned a 7.8 rating/21 share in adults 18-49, according to Nielsen's preliminary estimates of the first three hours. It also delivered 23.1 million total viewers.

That's the Peacock's best non-sports/post-Super Bowl ratings since the 2006 series finale of Will & Grace. And as Variety points out, 23.1 million viewers is the network's best since the final episode of Fraiser in 2004 (during George W. Bush's first term as president).
