The Leftovers will return for its second season on Oct. 4, HBO revealed Thursday afternoon ahead of the cable network's panel tonight at the Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour in Pasadena.

The premiere date follows the Justin Theroux-led show's first teaser, which was released last month.

Season two will take the story to Jarden, Texas, a small town which has not experienced a single departure.
