Following Coachella's 2016 lineup announcement Monday night, James Murphy says a new LCD Soundsystem album and tour are in the works.

The band is headlining Coachella in April and Murphy confirmed in a latter to fans on Tuesday that in addition to a full tour, they are currently working on new music.

He also responded to criticism that the band would reunite so soon after their 2011 "farewell" tour, explaining that he understands people who "feel very attached to the band ... who feel betrayed by us coming back and playing." Acknowledging those who put so much effort and resources into being a part of the final show at Madison Square Garden, Murphy said he "hadn't considered" that the experience might now seem "cheapened ... ridiculous on my part. I saw some comments online a few days ago from people who felt that way, and it blindsided me, and made me incredibly sad.”
