Passion Pit's Michael Angelakos is starting off the new week with a treat for fans in the form of new song "Stained Glass Windows."

According to the singer, the delicate new track—which is credited to him without the Passion Pit moniker—is part of an upcoming holiday project called Merry Christmas, Mr. Fields, billed as an "original soundtrack" and "video album."

It is due out this Friday (Dec. 16) and the full, 15-track collection, is available now for pre-order

News of Angelakos' new project comes just days after he had taken to Twitter, alerting fans "what is about to happen is so much better, more beautiful, more humbling than I ever could have imagined."

As Variance first reported, the Passion Pit mastermind canceled a number of live shows back in September, citing an "unpredictable schedule." At the time, sources told us he had been in the studio "nonstop" this past year and had new material finished.

Hear "Stained Glass Windows" below.
