Passion Pit Cancels Newly Scheduled Shows as New Music Looms

Just days after announcing a string of new shows, Michael Angelakos (aka Passion Pit) has canceled them.

"My sincere apologies to everyone for pulling these shows," he said Friday afternoon on Twitter. "[It] has nothing to do with my health and all of that, just unpredictable schedule. Will reschedule these shows asap and by then hopefully you'll be able to see (or hear) why these had to be moved. Really sorry."

As we previously mentioned, Angelakos is said to have been in the studio "nonstop" this past year and we're told he has new material finished. It's possible he's clearing his schedule to allow time for promotion.

Passion Pit's headlining performance at the All Things Go Fall Classic, scheduled for Oct. 8 in Washington, D.C., is still set to go on as planned, despite the other shows being scrapped.

Coincidentally, tickets for the canceled dates were set to go on sale today.

Canceled shows:
10/09 — Richmond, VA — The National
10/10 — Athens, GA — Georgia Theatre
10/12 — Atlanta, GA — Variety Playhouse
10/13 — Tampa, FL — The Ritz Ybor
