Following his initial written statement on Sunday, Queens of the Stone Age's Josh Homme has shared an emotional video apology to photographer Chelsea Lauren, whom he kicked in the face during the band's performance Saturday as part of the KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas show.

"I don't have any excuse or I did. I was a total dick," he admitted, then addressing: "My bandmates, my mom and my dad, my wife, my brother and my kids. I don’t want them to ever be ashamed or embarrassed about being around me or knowing me."

Homme also seemed to acknowledge his apology—as sincere as it might be—may not prevent any looming legal action. "I’m truly sorry, and I hope you’re OK," he said, directing his words to Lauren, then conceding: "I understand you have to do whatever you have to do."

While Lauren has previously suggested she intended to file a police report, it wasn't immediately clear what kind of further action she might take, although some have encouraged her to press charges.

Homme was forced to apology after video footage showed him aggressively and perhaps intentionally kicking Lauren's camera into her face. She later said she spent the night in the emergency room to treat injuries.

In addition to the incident involving Lauren, Homme also knocked out some of the lighting and confetti equipment and later cut his head with a knife and called the audience "retards" during his violent outburst.

"I'm gonna have to figure out some stuff, I think," Homme said during his video apology on Monday.
