Lana Del Rey will no longer be performing her song "Cola."

The singer said in a new interview with MTV News she is ditching live performances of the track, which alludes to a "Harvey Weinstein/Harry Winston-type of character."

In the song, which appeared on her 2012 Paradise EP, she declared her "pussy tastes like Pepsi Cola" before urging an older married man to leave his wife. "Harvey's in the sky with diamonds and he’s making me crazy," she sings before insisting: "Come on baby, let’s ride / We can escape to the great sunshine / I know your wife and she wouldn't mind."

According to Del Rey, she was inspired by a Weinstein-esque figure. "I envisioned, like, a benevolent, diamond-bestowing-upon-starlets visual, like a Citizen Kane or something," she said. "I'm not really sure. I thought it was funny at the time, and I obviously find it really sad now. I support the women who have come forward. I think they're really brave for doing that."

There had been increased speculation about the "Cola" lyrics in recent days after news broke of Weinstein's alleged sexual assault of a number of women. Some reports suggested Del Rey might have had an unpleasant encounter with the disgraced film mogul in the past.

Del Rey's new comments come ahead of her North American tour, which begins in January.
