Just a day after confirming her new album Witness is out next month, Katy Perry has signed on as a judge for the upcoming reboot of American Idol on ABC.

The network officially announced the news Tuesday during its upfront presentation for the 2017-18 season. The show is expected to relaunch in March 2018, likely with Ryan Seacrest returning as host, although he has yet to sign on the dotted line.

As we previously mentioned, Perry had previously passed on Fox's version of Idol. She will likely be joined by two lesser known judges, as ABC is said to be aiming to keep costs down compared to the hefty price tag Fox had been paying.

ABC is expected to launch auditions for Idol later this year.
