Rae Sremmurd's Gucci Mane-assisted "Black Beatles" has surged to No. 1 on the U.S. charts after sitting at No. 9 last week on the Billboard Hot 100.
In rocketing to the top spot, the song has dethroned The Chainsmokers' Halsey collaboration "Closer," which had a 12-week lock on the crown.
As Billboard notes, "Black Beatles" got a significant boost from its usage in viral Mannequin Challenge videos. In fact, Paul McCartney himself last week shared a video of his own with the caption, "Love those Black Beatles #MannequinChallenge."
"Black Beatles" was the most-streamed song of the week, which contributed to its surprising No. 1 standing along with a 320% spike in sales with 144,000 downloads sold, according to Nielsen Music. It also rose 122% in streaming to 43.3 million U.S. streams.
