Less than a year after the release of The Weeknd's album Beauty Behind the Madness, it seems a new project could be out sooner rather than later.
The singer acknowledged in a new interview with Vogue that he's been in the studio with the team from his debut mixtape House of Balloons, the 2011 set which established The Weeknd as an indie favorite.
"It’s a new thing. Always a new thing," the singer said of the new material, although he offered no other details.
As we reported in March, The Weeknd backed out of Rihanna's spring tour to work on his new album, with sources claiming he "has hit a stride on his new album and decided not to interrupt the process."
While it's unclear who exactly The Weeknd has been working with on his new record, the likes of Doc McKinney, Carlo "Illangelo" Montagnese, Jeremy Rose and others all contributed substantially to Balloons.
