Rumors began swirling Sunday afternoon when Eminem posted on his newly created Instagram account a photo of the MTV VMAs logo with the caption, "Guess who's REALLY back?"

But hold on. As his publicist confirmed to Variance just moments after the Instagram update, Em has been slated to perform Leeds Festival in the U.K. on Sunday. However, Us Weekly claims the Detroit rapper is in fact "set to attend." The publication didn't address the Leeds performance, which has been scheduled for weeks.

Eminem's post does suggest some kind of presence. And he does have a new single due any moment now, with a record this fall. Perhaps he will pull off some kind of surprise?

UPDATED: Eminem confirmed his new album, Marshall Mathers LP 2, will arrive Nov. 5. It is executive produced by Rick Rubin and Dr. Dre. New single, "Berzerk," will arrive Tuesday (Aug. 27).
